What is B.A mass communication?
Bachelor of Arts in mass communication is a 3-year undergraduate course that focuses on all the aspects of a career in journalism. From print media outlets like newspapers and magazines to digital media which covers all the social media channels, this course teaches how to put yourself out through these mediums. The primary objective of this course is to prepare students to be articulate enough so that they can convey their opinions through various mediums and express it to a large section of the population.

Course content
Over the 3 years, you will have 6 semesters, with 2 semesters each year.
First-year - Sem I & II
The first year will be focused on the development of your communication skills. You will have subjects like communication science I & II, one for each semester. You will be taught to communicate in both Hindi and English eloquently. You will also be taught the subjects of sociology and psychology. There will also be a subject called principles of writing, which will hone your writing skills. You will also learn about Computer Applications during these semesters.
Second-year - Sem III & IV
The second year will introduce you to the history of electronic and print media. Communicative English forms a big part of the second year’s curriculum. You will be presented to subjects like political science and economics. News writing and reporting & editing are essential subjects from the journalistic point of view. There will also be subjects on print production and radio production, which will make you understand what’s the behind-the-scenes process.
Third-year - Sem V & VI
The last semester will consist of subjects like media management, media law and ethics, advertising, new media, communication research, media society and culture, public relations and a language of your choice. Here, you will also learn about television production and multimedia production.
